Your student and network ID
You'll get two different logins as you move through your journey with AUT: a student ID and a network login. Here's what each one's for, and when you'll receive it.
When you receive your student ID
Your AUT student ID number is a unique identifier sent to you once you have applied to AUT. Check your email inbox for emails from AUT. Your AUT student ID number is usually placed at the top of the document attached to your email.
What to use it for
You can log into My AUT, your personal view of your AUT information, using your AUT student ID number and password.
When you receive your AUT network login
Your AUT network login is your verified AUT digital identity that gives you access to AUT’s digital platforms. It’s different than the login you created when you applied to AUT. When you log into My AUT using your network login it will also open up new features for you that you’ll need as a student.
You’ll receive your AUT network login in the orientation invite email approximately four weeks before semester starts.
What to use it for
You use your network login to access the learning and support systems you need while studying, including:
- AUT network
- Canvas
- My AUT
- Your student email
- Library
- Internet
If you're logging in for the first time, your password will be the two-digit day of your birthday, followed by the first three letters of your birth month. For example if you were born on the first of January, then your password will be 01jan (all lowercase).
You must register your IT account after your first login.
