Graduation is an opportunity to celebrate the successful completion of your qualification – and it’s a special occasion you can share with friends, family and AUT staff.
We usually hold two graduations each year – in summer and winter. Each graduation day usually begins with a street procession, where graduating students and AUT staff walk to the graduation ceremony venue. This is a unique opportunity to see everyone in their official academic regalia, with some graduands wearing family korowai or other cultural adornments.
During the graduation ceremony itself, graduands are each presented with their degree or certificate. This formal ceremony takes several hours, with family and friends invited to watch.
To find out more about graduation, including upcoming ceremony dates, venues and what to expect on the day, visit our student website, Student Hub Online.
Auckland is currently at alert level 3 and the rest of the country is at alert level 2. We understand that this may be causing concern for graduands as, under alert levels 2 and 3, events like Graduation can't be held due to size restrictions on gatherings.
At this stage, no decision has been made about postponing the ceremonies scheduled for 15 – 17 March. If Auckland remains in either level 2 or 3 after 6 March, AUT will consider postponing the ceremonies to a later date. We will update all graduands on Monday 8 March about ceremony confirmation or possible postponement.
If you graduated before July 2017 you would have received a paper transcript. You can request a digital version for a cost of $20. Contact the Graduation team to ask for your transcript to be released to My eQuals.
