Graduation ceremonies

Graduation is an opportunity to celebrate the successful completion of your qualification – and it’s a special occasion you can share with friends, family and AUT staff.

We usually hold two graduations each year – in summer and winter. Each graduation day usually begins with a street procession, where graduating students and AUT staff walk to the graduation ceremony venue. This is a unique opportunity to see everyone in their official academic regalia, with some graduands wearing family korowai or other cultural adornments.

During the graduation ceremony itself, graduands are each presented with their degree or certificate. This formal ceremony takes several hours, with family and friends invited to watch.
