Tickets and seating for graduation

Find out how you get guest tickets for your AUT graduation ceremony and where your guests can sit when you’re graduating.

Getting tickets for your graduation ceremony

  • You (the graduand) don’t need a ticket for yourself
  • Each of your guests will require their own ticket for admission
  • Tickets are free
  • If you're graduating in person, we can guarantee you up to 4 tickets for your guests*
  • You'll receive an email with instructions on how to redeem your guest tickets on 18 July 2024. You'll have to redeem your guest tickets from Ticketmaster
  • Depending on the number of tickets claimed, number of graduands and the capacity of the venue, we may be able to release extra guest tickets. If extra tickets are available, we'll email you about how to request extra tickets on 23 July 2024
  • For children attending, please check out the venue information and guidelines for parents and caregivers

*If you need more than 4 tickets for your guests, we'll confirm by 23 July if more guest tickets are available at your ceremony

  • Graduands sit separately from their guests
  • Seating at Aotea Centre is general admission and non-allocated
  • Your guests should arrive at least 30 minutes before the advised door closing time for the ceremony

Need assistance on the day?

If you need help on graduation day – for example, you can’t walk up the stairs to the stage, or if you need special seating at the ceremony – contact the graduation team well before the day of your graduation.
