Economics Specialisation - Bachelor of Business (Honours)

With the Economics specialisation in the Bachelor of Business (Honours) you'll explore advanced level topics in economics and research an area of your interest.

For high-achieving students, the honours degree provides a fast-track to a postgraduate qualification that is highly valued by employers and a gateway to the PhD.

Our programme emphasises modelling and data analytics for business and policy. You complete the same suite of specialisation courses as in the Master of Business, plus a 60-point dissertation.

To graduate with a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Economics, you must complete 120 points from:

  • Specialisation courses
  • Dissertation

Full-time students would normally start this specialisation in Semester 1 (February).

Specialisation courses - complete the following

These advanced-level courses cover the latest research and theories in economics, and help you prepare for your independent research thesis or dissertation.

Dissertation

You can only enrol in the dissertation if you achieve a B- grade average or higher in your courses, have an approved research proposal, and supervision is available for your research.

The class of honours awarded in the programme depends on your grade.
