When do I need to pay my fees?
Your payment due date is printed on your fees invoice. You should pay your fees in full by this date.
You can find your fees invoice in the AUT correspondence on My AUT.
Can I pay in instalments?
You can pay your fees in instalments; however you must pay the full amount by the due date. There are no formal payment plan options available – your fees must be paid by the due date on your fees invoice.
Can I pay my fees with Fees Free?
No but if you’re a domestic student and this is your first qualification, you may be able to claim back up to $12,000 in fees back after you’ve completed your qualification.
To pay your fees, you need to pay by the due date on your fees invoice. To help cover this cost, you could apply for a student loan.
Once you’ve finished your studies, you can then apply for reimbursement through Inland Revenue.

What happens if I don't pay in time?
- We will remind you if your fees are overdue
- You risk losing your place in class and access to university network, services, learning systems and your final results
- There may be a $200 reinstatement fee applied to your account, which you need to pay for your access to be reinstated
- You won’t be able to continue your study until all outstanding fees are paid in full
- You won’t be eligible to receive your qualification or final academic transcript until all outstanding fees are paid in full
- Your outstanding debt may be placed with an external debt collection agency and will have implications for your credit history
What payment methods are accepted?
You can pay your fees using the following payment methods:
- Online – bank transfer, credit or debit card, Convera telegraphic transfer
- Scholarship or financial guarantee
- Student loans and allowances (domestic students only)
