Student Hub: services and support

The AUT Student Hub is the place to go for help with most student issues on each campus. It gives you access to a range of services and support options to help you succeed at AUT.

The Student Hub offers:

  • Appointments with a specialised student advisor, dependent on your needs
  • Financial support
  • Academic and personal support
  • StudyLink and course fees
  • ID cards and Auckland Transport tertiary travel discount help

Booking an appointment with a student advisor

Our student advisors can help you with your personal or academic needs and put you in touch with other services on campus. We can assist with a range of wellbeing support and are always available to discuss your needs. These appointments last about 45 minutes so we can take the time to work on the best outcome for you. For any quick query just pop in the Student Hub and someone will help you.

Make an appointment for a special consideration application to talk to an advisor about managing your academic workload

If your ability to attempt or prepare for an assessment is affected by circumstances beyond your control, you may be able to apply for special consideration. The Student Hub, Counselling and Mental Health team and Student Medical Centre can complete the Impairment Report required for some students.

A qualified student advisor can talk to you about general international information, medical or travel insurance, immigration, visa matters, personal safety, wellbeing, and social and community connections.

If you identify as rainbow (LGBTQIA+), AUT can support you with specialty care so there are no barriers to your learning or social activities. You can meet with a student advisor who is dedicated to rainbow support and can provide ongoing advice, care and assistance, and connect you with the rainbow student community.

If you are Deaf, neurodivergent, or have a disability or medical condition, AUT can support you to access adaptive technologies, find apps and settings allowing you to interact with your phone and computer in different ways. If you find it difficult to access course materials, take notes in class or look at a screen all day, adaptive technologies may help make your studies a lot easier.
