The AUT Centre for Screen Practice Research would like to invite you to the Postgraduate Symposium in screen practice research. This year it will be a hybrid, both kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) and online.
Join us to hear from postgraduate students studying any aspects of film, filmmaking, screen cultures, screen production, screen practice, and creative practice research. Come to discuss, network and socialise over light refreshments.
You can attend or share your work-in-progress in the form of a short presentation or a poster. If you would like to present, we invite you to give a 5 to 10 minute presentation followed by a Q&A.
Share your postgraduate research project
If you are a postgraduate student at any stage of your study (postgraduate diploma, master’s degree, MPhil, PhD) or a recent graduate at any university in New Zealand or overseas, you’re welcome to participate free of charge. This will be an opportunity to receive feedback from your peers and experts in the field.
You can share any aspects of your postgraduate research project:
- Excerpts of your screen practice
- Discussion/description of your project
- Challenges of conducting your research
- Research process, methods and methodologies
- Concept development and process
- Ethical considerations
- Writing thesis and exegesis
- Research findings
- Literature Review (a critical review of contextual knowledge)
We encourage the use of audio-visuals in your presentation. There will be a projector and facility to plug in a laptop.
Deadline for abstract submission
- 30 October 2022
We’ll let you know whether your abstract has been accepted within a week from your submission date. All abstracts will be published electronically.
