Promote your business on campus: employer and industry events

Raise awareness of your business, brand or organisation by promoting your opportunities to AUT students and graduates. Find out how you can connect with our students, either on campus or online.

Attend a career fair to meet students and graduates

Career fairs are a key feature on our students' calendar – as well as an essential event for many organisations’ recruitment campaigns.

Here is your chance to get in front of students to promote your organisation and graduate roles, as well as meet potential employees. We have delivered career fairs online over the last year but are now happy to be running on-campus events again.

Semester 2

  • Tuesday 19 July - Business and Law Career Fair
  • Wednesday 3 August - Hospitality, Tourism, Events and Culinary Arts Career Fair
  • Wednesday 10 August - Community and Public Sector Career Fair
  • Tuesday 16 August - ICT and Engineering Career Fair
  • TBA - Science Career Fair

Be a guest speaker, give a presentation or join a panel to connect with our students

We run lots of events across our campuses each year. You can join our leadership speaker series, give a presentation, join a panel, deliver a workshop – or contact us to talk about other ways you can engage our students and graduates, either on campus or online.

Recent employers that offered presentations included KiwiRail, SkyCity, TupuToa, Ministry of Social Development, 2 Degrees, Harrison Grierson and PWC.

Partner with us in our employability awards

The AUT Edge Award (open to all students) and Beyond AUT Award (for postgraduate students) encourage students to get involved in activities outside of study – they complete projects in volunteering, employability, leadership and challenge. These awards are all about giving students the chance to get involved with charitable initiatives and organisations they support and believe in.

We'd love to talk with you if you have a volunteering opportunity for a student to:

  • Help the community or a charitable organisation while developing their skills
  • Take on a leadership role with more responsibility

We also run a Volunteering Expo each year.

Students often ask whether they should bother with writing a cover letter. When I surveyed 15 employers recently about CVs and cover letters, I found six of them read a candidate’s cover letter before they read their CV – yep before! Only two employers considered a cover letter optional. So short answer - yes, it is worthwhile. Here’s are some of those employers' thoughts on cover letters.
