AUT’s inaugural Sustainability Report assesses AUT’s progress in 2020 against the targets of our Sustainability Roadmap, launched in October 2018. The roadmap sets out what AUT needs to do to achieve its sustainability mission while the Sustainability Report looks at the progress we are making towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the roadmap’s targets across five themes:
The report shows that AUT has a network of sustainability-minded staff and students already making teaching, research and on campus contributions to climate change, biodiversity loss, waste reduction and other areas. It also highlights information gaps and areas where more progress is required.
Our roadmap outlines sustainability objectives, priority actions and targets across learning, research, governance and facilities and supports AUT’s contribution towards the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Its companion document, our Sustainability Plan, provides more detail and example actions.
The Sustainability Roadmap supports AUT’s contribution towards the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The goals describe how we can achieve a better future, addressing global challenges like poverty, inequality and climate change.
