Your AUT candidate guide: Head of School/Dean of Business
AUT is a university with a clear sense of direction and the ambition to match. If this role has caught your attention, here's why AUT is one of the most exciting places to lead in the sector right now.
Welcome from our faculty dean
Hear from our faculty dean, Professor Kate Kearins, about what our business school stands for, what drives it and where it's heading.
The opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of New Zealand's largest and most internationally recognised business schools at a pivotal moment in its evolution. As Head of School/Dean, you build on solid foundations – dual AACSB and EQUIS accreditation, a vibrant research culture and deep industry connections – while helping shape the direction of a newly merged faculty. As a member of the Executive Dean's Leadership Team, you will advance excellence in teaching, research, student success and external engagement, while strengthening Māori and Pacific success and growing the school's impact for business, communities and society. This is a role for an experienced academic leader who wants to build on something already strong – and take it further.
The school
The AUT Business School is built around a clear purpose: learning that transforms individuals, families and communities. Research-informed teaching and deep industry connections combine to develop graduates with the academic knowledge, professional skills and responsible business mindset to lead in a complex world – with research organised around three signature themes: inclusive work and wellbeing, responsible business, and digital futures and innovation.
