Nau mai ki te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau, welcome to Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
I am delighted you are considering a role at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). We are one of the world’s leading modern universities and New Zealand’s newest. Equity and excellence are central to our purpose and actions, and we offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to employers and the professions.
Our new Faculty of Society and Business combines our two faculties of Business, Economics and Law and Culture and Society – and has a vision for education to transform and benefit individuals, families and communities, and for research with impact.
We are seeking to appoint a Head of School/Dean of Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage in an academic setting and be able to lead and work with colleagues with both professional and academic qualifications.
There is scope to further strengthen and develop an attractive programme portfolio that includes a large undergraduate Bachelor of Business, an evolving suite of professional master’s degrees and a new online MBA.
Research leadership within the school is also a priority, as we seek to grow a research culture that embraces research relevance and impact, and build on a record of strong publication quality and broad international engagement.
AUT is a vibrant, achievement-oriented and rewarding place to work. I am impressed with the commitment and professionalism of the senior colleagues as well as the wider academic and professional staff community that I work with in the faculty and across AUT.
I encourage strong candidates to apply for this important leadership role at a leading New Zealand university, where we have a strong drive to do what’s important for our students, for our colleagues and our wider community.
