Akoranga Student Village offers shared apartment living on AUT's North Campus.
Akoranga Student Village has 40 townhouse-style, self-catered apartments housing 204 residents. A 5-minute walk to the North Campus and close to public transport links and shops, on-campus living offers a convenient, safe and social lifestyle.
Each apartment is fully furnished and has 5 or 6 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a shared lounge/dining area and a kitchen.
Apartment groups are chosen based on age and course of study, but we will do our best to accommodate any special requests.
When you apply for accommodation, you can tell us if you would prefer to live in a single or mixed gender group and add any comments like rainbow friendly or low alcohol.
You can expect a safe and positive university experience at AUT.
The apartments have onsite security 24 hours a day and you also get support from residential assistants (RAs). RAs are student staff members who live in our student accommodation – they provide academic or personal support to residents.
Student accommodation offers a 'residential life' programme during the year, so you can get to know other people and join in social events.
All bedrooms are standard size (3.2m x 2.5m).
Our rooms have a double bed or a king-single bed (the type of bed is dependent on your room allocation), wardrobe, desk, chair, bookshelf and a towel rail. You need to bring your own bedding and linen, or you can buy a linen pack from our accommodation services team.
There are 8 bedrooms for students with special access needs.
AUT students can stay in student accommodation over the summer (November to January) at reduced rates. We also accept bookings from other tertiary students and the public over this time.
Our North Campus accommodation at Akoranga Student Village is a great option for families and groups travelling together, as well as individuals. Contact the Residential Services team for prices.
