Vice-Chancellor Professor Damon Salesa’s new book of essays: An Indigenous Ocean, has been shortlisted for the non-fiction category in the Ockham NZ Book Awards.
Through the essays, Damon bridges the gap between academic disciplines and cultural traditions, and locates Pacific peoples always at the centre of their stories. An Indigenous Ocean has been described as a pivotal contribution to understanding the history and culture of Oceania.
