We encourage students to contact us about any concerns with AUT services. He wāhi haumaru tēnei hei tuku kōrero – this is a safe place to raise your concern, in the spirit of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga – relationality and mana-enhancing actions.
All feedback is processed in line with our Privacy Policy - where feedback relates to staff or another student, all information is treated confidentially.
Concerns
You can use this form to share a concern about a service provided by AUT (stage one and two of the AUT Student Concerns and Complaints Procedure). We’ll assess it and direct it to the right part of the university for a response.
If you can, we recommend trying to resolve concerns at the local level first – kōrero tuatahi ki te hunga e pā ana. This might mean raising the matter with your lecturer or the relevant service area (for example, the library or Student Hub). If that’s not possible or doesn’t feel right, you can indicate that in the form and your concern will be escalated to a more senior staff member for resolution.
Complaints
You can also use this form to make a formal complaint. A formal complaint is usually made when attempts at the local level haven’t worked.
Support for you – if you’d like to talk through your concern or complaint and get advice, AUTSA Advocacy is here for you. AUTSA Advocacy works independently from AUT, so they can offer free, confidential support and advocacy for students. Email advocacy@autsa.org.nz
