AUT’s Bachelor of Arts in Events Management has been accredited by the Centre for Events & Festivals (CEF).

The organisation is an international professional body for the events industry based in the United Kingdom.

The recognition brings tangible benefits for graduates, including awarding each graduate Associate Fellowship, with a shareable certificate and the right to add “CEF-AF” after their name, Programme Leader Dr Sandra Goh says.

“Graduates will also be listed on CEF's Public Register of Fellows, providing professional recognition and an international network that they can carry forward as they enter and progress in the events industry,” Dr Goh says.

“The accreditation recognises the work that has gone into developing our curriculum and strengthening the connections between academic learning and industry practice.

“This is a collective achievement with our team and our industry partners, and I am grateful for the continued partnership and dedication towards supporting the students' learning through real-world scenarios, projects and assessments."

Dr Goh says CEF was established in August 2024 to advance the professionalisation of the global events and festivals industry.

It brings together industry leaders, practitioners, academics and policymakers to share expertise, develop professional standards, support career development, recognise professional achievement and promote research-informed practice, she says.
