Study art and design
Finding your creative voice isn't quiet work. It's loud, messy and collaborative. At AUT, you'll work in studios surrounded by other artists and designers pushing their own boundaries – experimenting, taking creative risks and making breakthroughs together. You'll use professional printmaking facilities, digital labs and exhibition spaces to test your ideas, then showcase your work to industry and media at our annual art & design festival. Small studio groups mean your lecturers know your work, see where you're heading and help you get there.
Undergraduate study in art and design will give you a solid grounding in your chosen area.
Bachelor's degree
Postgraduate study in art and design will build on your knowledge and expertise in your area of interest.
A diploma will give you an introduction to your chosen subject and can prepare you for further study.

Research in art and design
Some research lives in journals. Ours lives in galleries, on streets, in studios and in the stories people tell. At AUT, art and design research is tactile, visual and deeply connected to the world around it. From visual arts to digital design, it’s work that invites reflection – and reaction.
