Eligibility

  • Applicants must be new full-fee paying international students. 
  • Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries:
    • Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Ecuador.
  • Applicants must have a current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible AUT Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies programme commencing in Semester 2, 2024.
  • Applicants cannot be previous AUT students. This includes those who are applying for a higher-level programme (e.g. an AUT bachelor’s degree graduate applying for a master’s programme).
  • Students who have already commenced studies at AUT are not eligible to apply.

Purpose

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and the Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies provide scholarships to recognise and support high achieving international students as they begin their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT.

How to apply

Applicants must complete the AUT International Scholarship application online via this link:

APPLICATION

Applicants are required to upload:

  • A current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible AUT Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies postgraduate programme commencing in Semester 2, 2024.
  • Detailed academic transcript for the most recent qualification, complete with grading scale.
  • Completion certificate (e.g., bachelor’s degree certificate).
  • Their AUT student ID in the box provided on the application form.
  • All documentation must be uploaded by the closing date otherwise the application will be considered ineligible.

Applicants are required to declare if they have applied for other scholarships both internally (i.e., awarded by AUT) and externally (e.g., government scholarships). The selection committee will take this into consideration.

Selection

  • A selection committee comprising representatives from AUT International and/or faculty will assess the applications.
  • Applications will be shortlisted and awarded by AUT on the recommendation of the selection committee.
  • The country of origin of the applicant may be considered by the selection committee to align with AUT’s strategic aims.
  • Students with an equivalent of a B grade average in their entrance qualification will be eligible for the award.

Notified

All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the AUT Scholarships Office via email from the scholarship portal.

Selection will take place on a two-weekly basis until places are filled.

Requirements

  • The offer of scholarship lapses if it is not formally accepted within two weeks from the date of offer.
  • Recipients with a valid conditional offer to study an eligible AUT programme must make a reasonable effort to meet the English language condition (if any) of their conditional offer within one month of accepting the scholarship offer.
  • The award of this scholarship is conditional on the student enrolling in an eligible AUT Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies postgraduate programme commencing in Semester 2, 2024.
  • Recipients are required to be enrolled full time (120 points) at AUT during the tenure of the scholarship. Failure to do so may result in termination of the scholarship and any paid funds recovered.
