Colgate AUT Oral Health (Honours) Scholarship

Eligibility

  1. Applicants should have completed an oral health or related programme no more than two years prior to the time of application. 
  2. AUT applicants must have completed the Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) with a B grade average or higher in level 7 papers or the equivalent for non-AUT graduates.
  3. Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to reapply to support the same programme of study in subsequent years.
  4. Applicants must intend to enroll full-time and meet the entry criteria for the Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) with a research topic related to oral health in Semester One, 2022.  Applicants who have not yet applied for admission to the programme should commence this process immediately.
  5. Preference will be given to NZ citizens or permanent residents.

To encourage and enable oral health study and research as well as to recognise student academic achievement via the AUT Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) programme.

How to apply

Applicants for this scholarship must complete the AUT online scholarship application by the closing date and upload:

  1. A brief Curriculum Vitae (maximum two pages).
  2. A one-page personal statement outlining the applicant’s academic and career goals.
  3. Brief outline (maximum 2 page) of intended research topic or area of research interest within oral health.
  4. Academic transcripts for any previous tertiary study that was not completed at AUT.

Reference:  Applicants must nominate via the online portal one academic referee in support of their application. The nominated referee will be sent an email from the application portal AUT CommunityForce and asked to comment on the applicant’s ability to succeed in their study and their suitability for the scholarship.

Selection

If there is more than one qualifying applicant, a selection panel consisting of the Head of Oral Health Department and two other AUT Oral Health staff nominated by the Head will make the decision. Colgate may have an additional representative on the panel.

Notified

The University Scholarships Office will notify all applicants of the outcome as soon as the panel have made their decision.

Requirements

The scholarship cannot be deferred.  The recipient cannot hold another scholarship during the tenure or for the same programme of study.
