AUT hosts a large number of scholars under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme (formerly NZAID).
The scholarships are made available to enable international students to study in New Zealand. Citizens from selected developing countries intending to undertake tertiary level study in New Zealand can apply for these scholarships to study at AUT.
The purpose of MFAT’s scholarships schemes is to enhance the skills, training and knowledge of selected individuals and thereby build capacity to contribute to the sustainable development of key areas in their home country.

These are full tertiary scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate academic study in New Zealand available to eligible international students.
Priority is given to applicants who choose one of the recommended subjects specified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
