Orientation for new students
Orientation is a great way to kickstart your university journey. At the start of each semester, we welcome new students to AUT through our Orientation programme. It's our way of bringing you into the AUT community and making sure you have the best start to your university journey.
Whether you’re joining us straight from school, after a study break or retraining in something new, the AUT Orientation programme will help set you up for success at uni.
Join us for Orientation – Tuesday 15 July 2025
We look forward to welcoming you at Orientation for Semester 2! This event will be held at the AUT City Campus for all students, regardless of your programme's study location or level. If your programme isn’t listed within the Orientation schedule, your faculty may not be offering a session. We still encourage you to join our Orientation workshops to help you prepare for your first week.

AUT student ambassadors
AUT student ambassadors are current students who volunteer their time to welcome and support new students. You'll meet them during Orientation Week so be prepared to make a friend and bring along any questions about AUT student life and support services.
AUTSA
AUT’s student association, AUTSA, advocates and represents the interests of all students at AUT. AUTSA is a proud supporter of the AUT Orientation, and you can connect with them on campus. As an AUT student, you’re automatically a part of AUTSA and have access to all the services and resources they offer.
