Meet potential employers who are looking for students and graduates with science-related skills. Find out about internships and graduate roles, and learn more about what it’s like to work at a particular organisation.
There is plenty of diversity within the science sector, from laboratory to field work to consultancy and manufacturing.
Run on campus annually by AUT’s Employability and Careers team, the career expo brings recruiters, hiring managers and AUT alumni to the City Campus to chat to students, offer advice and talk about the career opportunities in their organisations.
When: Thursday 31 July, 11am -1pm
Where: WG Building, City Campus
Want to feel prepared? Sign up for workshops on CVs, cover letters, networking and elevator pitches on Elab online
Bookings have just opened for the career expo and already we have half a dozen organisations signed up. We will continue to update this list as organisations sign up.
“I was looking for internship opportunities over summer or for next year. I managed to speak to quite a few people. It was a good way to find out about internships and roles that don’t necessarily come up on Seek.”
William Craig
Second-year molecular genetics and microbiology student
“I came mostly to find opportunities to gain food science experience but I was open to finding out about other possibilities. The expo expanded my knowledge about organisations such as Assure Quality and Fonterra. For example, Fonterra has an internship programme in research and development.”
Nina Marchadesch
Postgraduate food science student
“The expo provides us a chance to share information about our mission and what motivates Contact Energy. We are a diverse and complex business with opportunities for students from a wide range of backgrounds. We enjoy chatting with students about what their values are and what motivates them!”
Caleb Jasmat
Early Careers Lead, Contact Energy (and AUT graduate)
