Changes to key student services

Big changes are happening on the City Campus, and they’re all about creating a central hub for health, wellbeing, recreation and community connection. Services are moving from WB to WQ, so everything you need will be together in one space.

WQ will now be home to:

  • Te Āhuru Recreation Centre
  • Student accommodation
  • City Campus Gym
  • Student Medical Centre
  • Counselling and mental health support
  • Rainbow Room

To get everything ready for you, there will be a short transition period.

2 Feb-13 Feb – Medical Centre, counselling services and Rainbow Room

The Student Medical Centre, counselling services and Rainbow Room will be relocating. During this time medical appointments will be online or at the North Campus. All counselling and Rainbow appointments will be online. Your appointment times and booking process stay the same.

5 Feb-15 Feb – City Campus Gym and Te Āhuru

The City Campus Gym will close from 9pm on 5 February while all the equipment is moved into WQ. The Te Āhuru Recreation Centre will close 9 Feb-11 Feb so we can prepare the new shared space.

16 February - New facilities open

All services reopen in WQ. The new gym will open on levels 1 and 2. Sports courts and the eSports arena will stay where they are, and other recreation facilities will shift to level 3. Our medical, counselling and Rainbow spaces will be on level 4.

We know any change can feel a bit disruptive, but this move brings your wellbeing services closer together so you can find support quickly, comfortably and in one place. We can’t wait to welcome you into the new spaces soon.
