Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation (City Campus)
Finding accommodation in Auckland is one thing. Finding somewhere that sets you up from day one – your own private studio, a ready-made community, support always close and the AUT City Campus literally across the street – is something else entirely.
That's Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation. In the heart of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city. Private space when you need to focus, shared spaces when you want company, and AUT alongside you the whole time. Just bring your bags. We'll take care of the rest.
Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation is managed by UniLodge on behalf of AUT.

What makes the difference isn't the building

You're never figuring it out alone
Live-in residential assistants and AUT's residential care team are in the building around the clock – checking in regularly, connecting you to support and making sure you're settled, not just safe.

A social life that starts before semester does
Accommodation O'Week gets you connected before classes begin. From there, events, sports days, cultural celebrations and excursions run all year – shaped by the people living there.

AUT's campus, in your building
If you're an AUT student, you don't have to go far for anything – the gym (free in 2026), medical and counselling services, Rainbow student support and a full recreation centre, including an eSport arena, are all right here.
Your own space, fully set up
Every Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation studio is private – your own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, fully furnished and ready to move into. No sourcing a bed, no setting up power accounts, no flatmate negotiations. Just your own place to study, sleep and decompress. Your room includes:
- King single bed
- Private bathroom
- Kitchenette: fridge, microwave, 2-plate hob, sink and storage
- Study desk and chair
- Storage space and bookshelves
- Electricity, gas, water and unlimited wifi included
697 rooms in total, including 25 accessible rooms.

Take a look inside
Plenty of room beyond your room
As great as your studio is, there's a whole building worth getting out into. All residents – AUT students and non-AUT students alike – have full access to Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation's shared spaces. These include:
- Communal kitchen and dining
- Lounge areas
- Games area
- Music room
- Study spaces
- Recreational courtyards
- Laundry
- Bicycle storage
A social life that doesn't wait for you to build it
From the moment you move in, the residential life programme gets you connected. Accommodation O'Week kicks things off before semester even begins – designed to help you find your people and start feeling at home in your new community. From there, a full event calendar runs all year, shaped by resident feedback so it reflects who is actually living there:
- Cultural and international celebrations
- Sports days and social competitions
- Study nights and academic support sessions
- Off-site excursions
- An annual ball

AUT's campus, in your building
When everything's so close, you actually use it. For AUT students, that means:

- Mowai: medical, counselling and mental health support when you need it
- Te Poro Aniwaniwa: Rainbow student support, a welcoming space and a walk-in Rainbow wardrobe
- Recreation centre: multi-purpose sports court, eSport arena, AV systems for events and films, bookable rooms, kitchen facilities and common areas to unwind in
