Graduate Research School: support for research students
The Graduate Research School provides support and development for AUT’s research students – from individual support via our dedicated team to events and opportunities like workshops, competitions and peer groups that build community and connection between students.
Events to hone your skills and share your research
Our many events for postgraduate research students include Doctoral Inductions, Postgraduate Mix & Mingles, AUT Doctoral Scholarship Award Ceremonies, Writers’ Retreats, our annual Postgraduate Research Symposium and the AUT Three Minute Thesis Competition.
Opportunities to connect with others and broaden your skillset
As a postgraduate research student, you’ll find lots of opportunities to connect with others in the postgraduate student community and to develop your research skills.
Research students’ peer groups
The research students’ peer groups are a network of student-led groups where AUT postgraduate research students can meet, connect and share ideas. Find out which students' peer groups exist at AUT and join in! You can also learn how to start your own group.
Developing your research skills
As a postgraduate research student at AUT, you can take charge of your development as a researcher by making the most of AUT’s research workshops, seminars, groups and resources to develop these research skills.
On-campus facilities for postgraduate research students
Use study rooms and facilities just for AUT’s postgraduate students. Located on each campus, these are equipped with things like computers and printers, lockers, lounge areas and kitchen facilities. Swipe card entry means you can use these rooms outside of normal working hours.
Role and structure of the Graduate Research School
Some of the ways the Graduate Research School supports postgraduate research is by delivering and facilitating researcher development activities, providing information and administrative services to students, and providing input into AUT’s postgraduate research strategic decisions.
