Writing events
Find out more about writing events for postgraduate research students at AUT, including writers' retreats and writing workshops.
Writers’ retreats
These 2½-day residential retreats take place at Vaughan Park, Long Bay*. A limited number of places is available for each retreat by competitive application. These events provide an opportunity for research students to have dedicated writing time, free of distractions, in order to focus on thesis writing, with experienced academics and writing experts on-site.
*If you have allergies, please be aware that there is a resident cat that lives on-site at Vaughan Park.
Upcoming retreat
The next Writers’ Retreat will take place on a date to be confirmed in 2026.
