AUT supports Auckland Startup Week
AUT sponsored Auckland Startup Week 2025, (SUW), which brought hundreds of founders, innovators, investors and partners together for a festival of events designed to inspire, challenge and connect.
With a theme of ‘Celebrating innovation from the edge of the world’, the week-long series was a showcase of all those who are contributing to shaping Auckland’s reputation as a global city of innovation.
AUT’s Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Engagement, Amy Malcolm says, “The entrepreneurial and innovative nature of SUW is very well aligned with AUT and an invaluable opportunity for the university to show its support for, and long-term commitment to, New Zealand’s growing start-up community.
“As a university of opportunity, innovation and impact, we know that by working with like-minded SUW partners, we can collectively help unlock even greater potential in those Kiwi businesses that are starting out.
“We are proud to collaborate with those who share our ambition and who want to make a difference by mobilising resources, connecting and engaging with communities and creating opportunities that last.”
Amongst the series of keynotes, workshops, pitch competitions and networking sessions, AUT’s SUW event, titled ‘Reverse Pitch – Founder Support’, was a highlight of the programme, with incubators, accelerators and mentoring organisations sharing insights on how they launched and grew their business to a new generation of founders.
SUW 2025 was presented by Auckland Council in association with investment firms, entrepreneurs, research institutes, universities and corporates.
