A dynamic new recruitment video that celebrates and distinguishes AUT as a place that offers progressive careers with purpose, is released to Aotearoa and the world this week.

AUT’s new brand positioning, Knowledge That Works, unapologetically emphasises its uniqueness as a place of excellence and academic learning that is underpinned by real-world skills and experiences.

“Knowledge That Works clearly communicates what makes AUT distinctive as a university,” says AUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Damon Salesa.

“Now we’re distinguishing what makes AUT a great place to work by showcasing the diversity and experiences of our real, authentic people, so future employees know exactly who we are, what we offer and why they should choose us.”

Assistant Vice-Chancellor, People and Culture, Stephen Davies says extensive surveys with more than 250 staff helped develop the new recruitment video.

“The profiles and aspirations of our people clearly revealed the reasons why world-class staff continue to choose AUT,” he says.

The new video, which was filmed and produced at the AUT Virtual Production Studio, features staff from some of the diverse cultures who thrive at AUT. They are holding holograms to represent the various teaching and learning environments.

Behind-the-scenes, AUT’s web team refreshed the Working at AUT career pages, and many staff testimonials provide more insights into what it’s like to work at AUT.

“This is a video campaign that’s been made with its people, by its people, for its people,” says Professor Salesa.

As New Zealand’s only university of technology, AUT proudly leads the way by preparing students to thrive in a fast-changing world, with hands-on learning and an intelligent irreverence that empowers confidence and is refreshingly different.

Now it’s clear to see why it’s a great place to work too.
