AUT finalists named in the New Zealand Innovation Awards 2016
AUT has bagged three nominations at this year’s Innovation Awards.

AUT has bagged three nominations at this year’s Innovation Awards.

New Zealand SKA Alliance Big Data Challenges led by AUT and NZA has been named a finalist in the Innovation Excellence in Research and Young New Zealand Innovator category.

The second nomination is for AUT Colab Master of Creative Technologies Alejandro Davila, a finalist in the Young New Zealand Innovator category. Davila created the first story-telling virtual reality (VR) experience, Green Fairy, in the Southern Hemisphere.

Te Ipukarea’s Te Aka Dictionary & Te Reo Māori app & Tamata Toiere e-repository of waiata and haka was also nominated for Innovation in Media, Mobile and Entertainment.

Last year, AUT Professor of Biotech Innovation and Kode Biotech CEO Steve Henry was named Supreme NZ Innovator 2015 and winner of the Innovation in Health and Science category.

This year’s awards event will take place on 20 October at the Skycity Convention Centre. Click here to vote for this year’s NZ Innovation Awards.
