A new philanthropic partnership has been launched, focused on delivering long-term impact through four targeted funds that support education and opportunity in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The Auckland University of Technology Foundation (AUT Foundation) and Auckland Foundation launched their partnership and the four funds for giving at an event titled Transforming Lives Through Education – A Partnership for Auckland’s Future.
The event brought together board trustees and partners, donors, alumni, and friends, including Auckland Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson.
The chair of the AUT Foundation, Rob Campbell, says the AUT Foundation is pleased to work alongside partners such as the Auckland Foundation to continue widening access and opportunity for our communities.
“Together, we are creating pathways for emerging leaders, providing opportunities for the next generation to contribute to Auckland’s growth and success, and ensuring that this city continues to thrive by retaining the talent it needs.”
The four philanthropic funds launched as part of the partnership are designed to address specific areas of need within AUT and the wider community:
AUT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Damon Salesa, says AUT is dedicated to contributing to the innovative strength and prosperity of Tāmaki Makaurau-Auckland and Aotearoa New Zealand.
“Education transforms lives—not just for students, but for their whānau and the communities they come from and go on to serve. This partnership helps us extend that impact, creating opportunities that ripple across generations.”
The AUT Foundation is the official charity of Auckland University of Technology (AUT). It is responsible for managing donations to the university and facilitating philanthropic opportunities that empower students and support transformational education. The Foundation’s mission is to accelerate positive impact through meaningful partnerships that benefit both AUT students and the wider community.
