University librarian Kim Tairi joins senior lecturer Richard Pamatatau from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities as a trustee for the New Zealand Book Awards NZBA Trust.

A career librarian and respected leader, Kim has served as chair of CONZUL and as a board member of Open Access Australasia.

“Aotearoa literature is something I deeply believe in,” says Kim. “Books connect us – to ideas, to place, to each other. As someone who often sends books from home to mokopuna and whānau in Australia, I know the power they have to inspire and nurture.”
