Brendan Wood
Senior Lecturer of Paramedicine Brendan Wood has been appointed as the next Chancellor of the Priory of St John in New Zealand and Chair of the Priory Board. Brendan brings governance, leadership, and extensive healthcare experience, underpinned by a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in paramedicine, education, and military service.
In 2021, he was appointed as Deputy Chancellor of the New Zealand Priory of the Order of St John, Deputy Chair of the Priory Board and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee. In these positions, he has worked closely with governance and management to help guide strategic direction while providing oversight of clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives. He has served the Order with distinction for 50 years and has been recognised as a Knight of the Order of St John.
