Associate Professor Helen Sissons has co-authored with former AUT Associate Professor Philippa Smith a new academic text The 'Socially Networked' Newsroom, published by Bloomsbury Academic.
Drawing on video-ethnographic material gathered in three newsrooms, they detail ways in which new technologies have affected both daily newsroom operations and the identities of news workers.
