As the world moved into varying degrees of social distancing and lockdown, we have experienced and are still experiencing the largest enforced working from home experiment the modern world has ever seen. However, this is not an experiment – it is our reality and a reality that is likely to stay for some time.
The international research team consisting of Dr Lena Waizenegger, Taino Bendz, Dr Brad McKenna, and Dr Wenjie Cai conducted 28 interviews with knowledge professionals from around the world. They explored the role technology has played in facilitating people’s work and leisure activities throughout the lockdown.
In this online research seminar, Lena will elaborate on how the accelerated adoption of technology has allowed individuals and teams to continue working with their peers while maintaining or even fostering their social relationships. She will also talk about the challenges their participants faced and how these challenges can be overcome to improve productivity and combat loneliness during isolation.
The key message is that we have experienced unprecedented changes in the way we work and live – we now face a great opportunity to harvest our learnings and keep the benefits while overcoming the challenges. This is the new normal – let’s embrace it.
