Project details

Master of IT Project Management students complete an industry-oriented research project in their final semester that involves an independent scholarly investigation in an area of software engineering or IT project management.

Students' projects could focus on:

  • Project risk

Key responsibilities of project sponsors

  • Submit an initial project proposal
  • Meet with the AUT student and supervisor at the beginning of semester
  • Facilitate the on-boarding process for students prior to the start of semester
  • Have a key contact at the organisation available to guide, provide support and meet with the student at agreed times during the semester
  • Where appropriate, provide a space on-site at the sponsor organisation for the student to work

Submitting a project proposal

Key dates - Semester 2, 2019

  • Sponsor proposals due: 29 April 2019
  • Project allocations confirmed: 7 May 2019
  • Pre-project meetings with student, sponsor and AUT supervisor: Between April and June 2019
  • Project starts: 22 July 2019, or earlier as agreed
  • Project ends (full-time students): 25 October 2019
