Australian school students planning to study at AUT
Thinking of studying at AUT? Good choice. Your Australian qualifications are recognised, and the entry requirements are clear. Here's what you need to know.
Entry requirements for Australian students
You must have an Australian high school ranking with:
- An ATAR rank of 69.6 or above; or
- An OP rank of 14 or below
You must have:
- General: 120 points or above on the UCAS Tariff at A or AS level from an approved list (equivalent to NCEA approved subject list) and a grade of D or above in at least 3 different syllabus groups (excluding Thinking Skills)
- Numeracy: D or above in IGCSE Mathematics
- Literacy: E or above in AS English Language or AS English Literature
You must have:
- Been awarded the IB Diploma (24 points minimum); and
- Satisfied literacy and numeracy requirements by successfully completing English as language (IB Group 1) and any mathematics subject (IB Group 5)
You must:
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident; and
- Not have a University Entrance qualification; and
- Be 20 years or over by the first day of semester in which the programme begins
