Credit equivalence

7.5ECTS = 15 AUT points

Full semester workload = 30ECTS = 60 AUT points

At CBS, the workload for a full-time student is 30 ECTS per semester and they do not allow exchange students to take less than this.

Most papers are 7.5ECTS, so students will normally enrol in 4 courses per semester.

Course levels

Typically, undergraduate students will spend 3 years studying at CBS to obtain their bachelor’s degree.

Many of the available papers for inbound exchange students are noted on their course webpage as ‘3rd year’, however they allow 2nd year students to take these papers too provided they can meet the pre-requisite requirements.

Specific subject requirements/restrictions

Their full list of undergraduate (UG) courses are available here, their postgraduate (PG) courses are available here.

CBS can accept both UG and PG exchange students. You have to be studying a PG qualification to be able to take their graduate level papers.

Occasionally they will allow an exception if you cannot fill your course requirements for AUT from their UG papers, this is on a case-by-case basis and they may allow UG students to enrol in one graduate level elective course.

Pre-requisites need to be checked carefully to ensure you will manage the content at CBS.

Exchange courses can never be guaranteed but if there is a particular paper you need to take to stay on track with your AUT degree, CBS allow a ‘Letter of Priority’ to be submitted which can be provided to you by AUT Global.

They offer full semester courses and quarter courses. Quarter courses are typically twice as intensive as semester courses, as the same amount of teaching and learning takes place in about half as much time.

CBS advise against taking more than two quarter courses in the same quarter.

CBS offer a ‘Danish Crash Course’ for two weeks before semester starts, this is optional for students to sign up for.

Buddy Programme

CBS offer a Buddy Programme. This is a CBS student who volunteers to support exchange students, they will pick you up on arrival, show you to your new home and help you settle in. You will have to apply for a Buddy if you want to utilise this service, and students are sent the information via email from the CBS team closer to the starting date.
