AUT Business School and ASB are celebrating another stellar year of partnership, opportunity, and impact.

As one of our long-standing collaborators, the Business School’s relationship with ASB has only strengthened over 2025.

Since January, we’ve joined forces on an impressive five engagement initiatives.

In March, we co-hosted a Graduates Panel, in association with the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand, featuring ASB Wealth Assistant Product Manager, Amandeep Kaur. The event highlighted the pathways a career in finance can offer, and how students can prepare themselves for professional success within the sector.

In April, the AUT Investment Club hosted five senior Finance and Strategy leaders from ASB on campus for a finance-focussed panel discussion. Student attendees heard about life at ASB, the future of finance, and the opportunities awaiting them in the world of work.

Now in its 12th year, we were delighted to have ASB participate in the 2025 Shadow a Leader programme. Former CFO, Carl Ferguson, and GM Business Transformation & Customer Engagement, Rosalyn Clarke, hosted Business School and secondary students for a day of professional insights and inspiration at ASB’s headquarters at Wynyard Quarter.

In November, the ASB Talent Team launched an AUT intern programme, giving five finance students the opportunity to experience ASB’s day to day operations and connect with experts in the finance and corporate strategy field.

Elijah Abadi says it was amazing to learn about the inner workings of a bank.

"It's great to see how the degree I'm working towards translates into different operations. Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to get my foot in the door when it comes to a career in finance."

ASB employs nearly 500 AUT graduates, underscoring the value of its partnership with AUT Business School.

Annie Leung, Head of Finance Transformation at ASB, says the relationship is about more than sharing knowledge.

"It’s about encouraging curiosity and giving emerging professionals access to mentors, and the courage to step into the industry with confidence and real-world industry insights. Together, we create pathways that turn learning into meaningful careers that make a real impact."
