AUT presents Irish innovators in Sports Tech

AUT is delighted to host Enterprise Ireland and their delegation of Irish sports tech companies at a sport technology showcase.

A range of sport innovation entrepreneurs will share and demonstrate technology with benefits on and off the field.

Deputy Head of the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Gaye Bryham welcomes people from across the sport, health and fitness sector to attend and find out more about the Irish sports industry.

“AUT values our relationships with practitioners, organisations and businesses across the sector and looks forward to welcoming them to find out about some of the latest technology innovations,” Eric Helms, the hosting co-director of the AUT Sport Research Institute New Zealand, based at AUT Millennium, said.

Examples of Irish sports tech being shared include athlete performance enhancement through wearables, data analytics and safety tech alongside innovations focused on fans and communities. These include enhanced experiences for visually impaired event-goers, better facilities management, children’s movement analytics, and improved engagement with and experiences for fanbases.

The visit is arranged by Enterprise Ireland, the government’s international trade and innovation agency that has supported more than half of the 80+ sports tech companies based in Ireland.

“Ireland is ranked #1 in Europe for per-capita sports tech investment, securing over €224M across 181 venture capital deals since 2014. We are excited to share Irish innovation with the AUT Millennium community at the showcase in May." Libby Ryan, the Trade Development Executive, said.
