Animation Revelations

Four days of show and tell

Animation Revelations is a four-day animation forum and festival. The event brings together Auckland-based production companies, industry organisations, tertiary educators, students, and independents to look at and discuss animation.

The  packed four-day schedule includes unique screenings, with never-seen-before clips curated by Malcolm Turner, director of the Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF), and Animation Programmer for the New Zealand Film Festival. Screenings range in content from ‘Felix the Cat’, ‘Canadian Indie Showcase’ to ‘Late Night Extreme’.

Special international guests include Thierry van Hasselt (Belgium) and Laurent Monneron (France), who will be speaking at the ‘Belgian Showcase’ and 'Supinfocom Showcase' screenings, as well as running specialised workshops.

Also in the Animation Revelations programme are five panels with topics looking at the creativity, business, process and teaching of animation. There's also an exhibition that explores the ‘process of animation’ curated by Elena Ochkalova from AUT’s Master of Arts Management programme.

And for those who want to learn even more there are a range of workshops to choose from:  motion capture, augmented reality, claymation and others to be announced shortly.

This event is free for AUT staff and students (except the workshops) and will provide an inspirational and thought-provoking look into the world of Animation.

Places are limited, register now on Animation Revelations website.

Organised through AUT University's School of Art & Design and CoLab.
