AUT Alumni Awards – Nomination Form

Thank you for nominating an Auckland University of Technology (AUT) graduate for an Alumni Award. Please ensure the nominee is aware of this nomination before submitting.

Nominee details

Award category

Outstanding Alumni Award

Recognises a graduate who has made an exceptional and sustained contribution in their field, earning distinction through their leadership, influence and impact in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally.

Criteria — the nominee:

  • Has demonstrated sustained excellence and leadership within their professional field
  • Has achieved national or international recognition or influence through their work or contribution
  • Has demonstrated how their work has enriched lives, advanced knowledge or shaped practice, in Aotearoa New Zealand or internationally

Community Leadership Award

Recognises a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and long-term commitment to serving communities, creating meaningful and measurable change locally and internationally, aligned with AUT's values of pono, tika and aroha.

Criteria — the nominee:

  • Has demonstrated sustained and meaningful contribution to community, locally and/or internationally
  • Has shown leadership, advocacy or mentorship that has resulted in measurable outcomes for communities
  • Has demonstrated alignment with the University's values through partnership, purpose and care for others

Young Alumni Achievement Award

Recognises a young graduate who has achieved outstanding early-career success, demonstrating leadership, innovation or contribution within their profession or community in New Zealand or globally.

Criteria — the nominee:

  • Has demonstrated significant early-career achievement showing leadership or excellence
  • Has demonstrated innovation, social contribution or professional impact within their field or community
  • Has demonstrated clear potential for continued impact, leadership or influence in their profession or community

Aronui Impact Award

Recognises a graduate creating meaningful, sustained and enduring impact through Māori or Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing. Impact may be shaped by people, place and community in Aotearoa New Zealand or globally.

Criteria — the nominee:

  • Has demonstrated Māori or Indigenous values, concepts and approaches to impact
  • Has contributed to collective impact shaped by people and communities
  • Has contributed to strengthening Māori or Indigenous ways of knowing, being or doing

Technology and Innovation Award

Recognises a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in technology-led innovation, entrepreneurship or applied research, translating ideas into real-world impact locally and internationally.

Criteria — the nominee:

  • Has demonstrated excellence in technology-led innovation, entrepreneurship or applied research
  • Has demonstrated real-world application of technology with clear benefit to society or industry
  • Has demonstrated contributions to the discovery, advancement or adoption of technologies, locally and/or internationally
