Cardiff University

Cardiff University is the only Welsh member of the prestigious Russell Group of research-intensive UK universities. Founded in 1883, it counts among its alumni four heads of state or government and two Nobel Prize winners.

Located in the heart of Wales’ vibrant capital, the university’s campus sits among parks and tree-lined avenues—offering a beautiful and welcoming environment to live and study. Cardiff itself is a lively hub of sport, arts, and Welsh culture.

Adventure is close at hand: explore the dramatic landscapes of North Wales, discover ancient legends along the west coast, or try to pronounce the famously long place name Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. You’re also well connected for wider travel—London is just two hours away by train, and Cardiff Airport offers direct flights to European destinations.

Due to demand, some Academic Schools at Cardiff will only be able to offer modules to those students majoring in the discipline. These Schools currently include their School of Politics, History, Archaeology and Religion, School of English, Communication and Philosophy, and School of Psychology.

Students wanting to study in their School of Biosciences must do a year-long exchange.

The following courses are not available for AUT students: Architecture, Law and clinical disciplines.
