Videographer, Brand and Marketing Services

Brody Manase on creative freedom, a team culture like no other and why AUT gave him room to do his boldest work yet.

I’ve been able to push creative boundaries and explore bolder ideas within a hugely supportive team.

What's your role and how long have you been at AUT?

I’m a videographer in the Brand and Marketing Services team, and I’ve been working at AUT for over a year now.

What made you choose AUT – and what made you stay?

The diversity and progressiveness of AUT really stood out to me. I felt that I would be a good fit and that I would be able to grow creatively. Working in the Brand and Marketing Services team has been amazing. The work environment, the people and the culture of the team is the best I’ve ever worked in.

What has surprised you most about working here?

I was surprised at how pleasant the work environment is here – acknowledging birthdays every month, bringing the team together for a fortnightly waiata/karakia practice, and having social activities that our social committee put on for us all have contributed to a nicer work environment. Everyone on the floor is also very nice and friendly.

When did you last think: this is why I do this job?

Most recently it has been while working on a dynamic new staff recruitment video that showcases and celebrates what it means to be an employee at AUT. There has been a lot of learning, but it’s also been very rewarding and fun to work on, with real staff as the talent.

What does working here let you do that you couldn't do anywhere else?

I’ve been able to push creative boundaries and explore bolder and creative ideas within a hugely supportive team.
