The Master of Visual Arts is a one and a half year (full time) interdisciplinary research degree for visual arts graduates and creative professionals. You select a pathway that reflects your art practice and/or vocational interests.
As well as collaborating with other visual artists, you could also work with musicians, composers, filmmakers, animators, choreographers, directors, actors, set designers and writers across AUT.
You must have completed the Bachelor of Visual Arts or equivalent with a B grade average or higher in the papers at level 7 or above.
You can specialise in multimedia, installation, digital or moving image or new media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, sound, film, performance, social art practice, and other culturally relevant media.
