If you are an experienced health professional, the Doctor of Health Science will broaden your professional practice competency and expertise.
There is a strong focus on practice, and the research aspect in this degree aims to inform and impact on practice. You’re encouraged to build collaborative relationships with health system managers, policy makers and practice experts and communicate with them through all phases of your research project.

You’ll do three papers totalling 120 points, plus a thesis of 240 points. Through the papers, you’ll develop your understanding of theoretical issues relevant to your professional practice. This will help you clarify the focus of your studies and establish how you’ll reach your research goals.
As you near the end of your coursework, you’ll provide a full research proposal before you begin your thesis.
