The Master of Business Administration is highly regarded by employers. If you are aspiring to senior management level, already in senior management and want to realise your full potential, or you’re self-employed, an MBA can give you the business skills to succeed.

You’ll develop your leadership skills, understanding of ethical issues and business knowledge, and your ability to communicate effectively. Classes, projects and discussions will focus on current professional practice as well as your own experiences and learning, making this a highly practical qualification.

Minimum entry requirements

Must have completed one of:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Graduate diploma
  • Relevant professional qualification or professional experience approved to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree AND have a minimum of five years relevant professional experience since gaining the degree or other qualification.

Admission is subject to the approval of the MBA Director.

English language requirements (International students only)

IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in each band.

Other requirements

  • Aptitude test and/or interview may be required
  • Applicants who have completed their tertiary study or work experience overseas may require a satisfactory result in the GMAT.

Structure and Content

Each paper involves six weeks of class learning, with one three-hour class, per paper, per week. This is followed by an examination week then a one-week preparation period for the following term.

The MBA includes 15 core papers including a 30-point applied business project, as well as six elective papers. All MBA papers are 7.5 points each, apart from the 30-point project.

Core papers cover all the foundations of business. Key themes develop the values, attitudes and beliefs that impact on managers and the integrative capstone and applied business projects enable practical application. You can customise your study by choosing elective papers.
