Bear Park is an early childhood education centre inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Established in 1986 and now with multiple sites across Auckland and Dunedin. We are dedicated to providing the best innovative education and care for young children and are committed to ongoing professional development for all Early Childhood Educators.

To establish an employment relationship with Bear Park following graduation.


Selection criteria:

  • Applicants must be entering their final year of study as a full-time student in either a Bachelor’s Degree or a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Students must display a sound knowledge of good teaching practices and initiative for furthering their professional skills, as demonstrated by their academic achievement, recommendations from academic and professional leaders and information supplied on their application form.

How do students apply?
A Scholarship Application Form must be completed in full and received by the closing date to be eligible for selection. Applications will be accepted up to 3 months before the closing date. Your university academic record, curriculum vitae and any supporting information should be provided with this Application Form to assist with the selection process. How and when do students learn of the decision?
Selected students shall participate in a face-to-face interview with a member of the Bear Park leadership team before a decision is made to award the Scholarship.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
Recipients will enter into a bond agreement with Bear Park to complete a minimum one year of fulltime employment as an Early Childhood Educator, commencing within 3 months of their graduation.

Additional information
The Scholarship will be paid as a tuition fees credit in two instalments: one in the first semester and one in the second semester.
