WorleyParsons is providing three Professional Engineering Scholarships to students about to begin an Engineering degree at a University in New Zealand.

The Scholarships are designed to assist New Zealanders to further their ambitions and opportunities towards a career as a Professional Engineer


Selection criteria:

  • To be eligible to apply, students must be a NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident in or commencing full time study working towards a Bachelor of Engineering at a NZ University.

How do students apply?
Applications should contain a personal statement/cover letter, latest University or School transcript, CV and at least one character reference. Proof of enrolment may be requested at a later date.

Decision makers
Representatives from the WorleyParsons GDO will be responsible for shortlisting and selecting the Scholarship winners.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
All candidates will be considered and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by phone. If the need arises, there may also be a face to face interview as part of the process. You will be advised of the decision in October 2015.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
• The first payment will be made after the recipients provide WorleyParsons with evidence of acceptance and enrolment in an Engineering degree. • The recipients will then be required to submit evidence of passing their papers each year and continuing full time study toward their Engineering degree for the award to continue.

The successful applicants will display the following qualities: • Be an 'all-rounder' • Good academic achievement • School and community involvement • A commitment to pursue a career as a Professional Engineer • High Level of drive, commitment, enthusiasm and integrity • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and an ability to relate well to others.
