This scholarship was established in 1991, and was the bequest of Roy Watling Mitchell who passed away in 1975. His estate is managed by Guardian Trust.
Available to a Māori graduate with a record of academic excellence.

Incomplete applications will be declined You must advise the Māori Education Trust of any changes to your application. All changes must be advised in writing (email, fax and post are acceptable) All supporting documentation must be submitted.

Selection panels are made up of external subject experts and representatives of bequest whanau and Trusts.
How and when do students learn of the decision?
Successful applicants will be required to provide hard-copy evidence of their enrolment at their Secondary School or Tertiary Institution, before final payments of grants are made.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
If you meet scholarship criteria, you can apply for as many scholarships as you wish, however you can only be awarded one.
