Maori Education Trust: Roy Watling Mitchell Prestigious Professions Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1991, and was the bequest of Roy Watling Mitchell who passed away in 1975. His estate is managed by Guardian Trust.

Available to a Māori graduate with a record of academic excellence.

Selection criteria:

• Postgraduate applicants must: i.                be of New Zealand Māori descent (unless applying for the Queen Elizabeth II Postgraduate Fellowship); ii.               be enrolled at a tertiary institute in 2019; iii.             meet the criteria for the scholarships applied for; iv.             submit the application and supporting documentation on time.

How do students apply?
Incomplete applications will be declined You must advise the Māori Education Trust of any changes to your application. All changes must be advised in writing (email, fax and post are acceptable) All supporting documentation must be submitted.

Selection panels are made up of external subject experts and representatives of bequest whanau and Trusts.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
Successful applicants will be required to provide hard-copy evidence of their enrolment at their Secondary School or Tertiary Institution, before final payments of grants are made.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
If you meet scholarship criteria, you can apply for as many scholarships as you wish, however you can only be awarded one.

All applicants (successful and unsuccessful) will be notified in writing within three months after the scholarship closing date
