The Kieran Read CMRFU AUT Scholarship

Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union and AUT Business School will provide the following scholarship to one AUT Bachelor of Business student annually. To encourage and facilitate higher education while advancing the sporting careers of young Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union players.

To encourage students to undertake undergraduate study in business at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at Auckland University of Technology.

Selection criteria:

• Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union in consultation with AUT Business School will award the scholarship based on the following conditions: 1. The nominee must be intending to enroll for the first time, in a full-time degree programme of study in Semester 1 of the year following nomination. 2. The nominee must be a NZ Citizen or permanent resident when commencing enrolment. 3. Acceptance into the approved programme of study at AUT Business School. 4. Preparedness to learn and to commit to both the programme of study and to the terms of the player’s provincial union development contract with the Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union.

This scholarship is by Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union nomination only.
Regulations

Decision makers
The recipient will be selected by an appointment panel consisting of the Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union’s Head of High Performance, CEO and a director of the board. Preparedness for university study will be assessed by the Head of the University Scholarships Office on their performance to date in subjects relevant to their intended degree

How and when do students learn of the decision?
The recipient will be notified by the University Scholarships Office as soon as practicable after the panel have met.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The recipient must remain an active member of the Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union.

Additional information
The recipient can hold other scholarships but must seek permission from the CMRFU before applying for any outside of this scholarship.
