PhD Scholarship – Investigation of an optimum control strategy for the energy management in Low-Voltage Hydrogen based DC Micro-grids
DC-operable products in land and marine systems, as well as the most elements of distributed generation integrated to renewable energy systems such as solar PVs, wind generators, hydrogen, fuel-cells, batteries, supercapacitors etc. are intrinsically in favour of DC systems. These trends are making the move towards DC-microgrids, opening up a huge new research spectrum. To maintain the energy management of supply and demand sides to ensure constant voltage in the common bus, low voltage DCMG requires an optimised controlling topology. In this research, a distributed control strategy to model an efficient and optimised energy management for DC-Microgrids associated with Hydrogen production in an offshore environment will be investigated.
PhD Scholarship MBIE – Te Hotonga Hapori
The Ministry of Business and Innovation Te Hotonga Hapori Scholarship is available to a Māori Doctoral student and will be attached to Te Ipukarea Research Institute, Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). We acknowledge that this topic is broad, however we are open to individual perspectives of appropriate research in this space. Undertaking a PhD with Te Ipukarea Research Institute, alongside the wider Te Hotonga Hapori team, offers a unique opportunity to study in this critical area of Research.
